National Elevation Data Framework (24 April 2008)

The purpose of the National Elevation Data Framework (NEDF) initiative is to develop a collaborative framework that can be used to increase the quality of elevation data and derived products such as digital elevation models (DEMs) describing Australia's landform and seabed. The aim is to optimise investment in existing and future data collections and provide access to a wide range of digital elevation data and derived products to those who need them.

ANZLIC - the Spatial Information Council, the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering sponsored a workshop in Canberra on 18 March 2008. The specific purpose of the national workshop was to expose the drafts of the National Elevation Data Framework (NEDF) Business Plan and Science Case to public scrutiny under the independent oversight of the Academies so that the feedback received would be fairly treated in revised drafts.
